Admissions

At Portland Adventist Academy, your student is at the heart of everything we do. For more than 100 years, we’ve walked alongside families from all faith backgrounds, offering a fully accredited Christ-centered and character-driven high school experience grounded in Christ’s love and strong academics.

We partner with you to help your student discover who God created them to be, challenging them academically, nurturing their faith, strengthening their character, and building confidence that carries them through high school and into the future.

At PAA, your student’s teachers inspire curiosity and a genuine joy of discovery.

Learning is interactive and meaningful, as students and teachers work together to explore real-world questions and seek thoughtful solutions, guided by faith and purpose.

As your student pursues knowledge, they’re encouraged to think deeply, practice what they learn, and apply it in ways that matter. Ambitious learners are challenged through Advanced Placement and dual credit courses, while every class is intentionally designed to support diverse learning styles and interests.

To prepare students for today’s world, we embrace mobile learning in one-to-one classrooms. Through a Christ-centered approach to 21st-century learning, your student develops communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking - skills they’ll carry with them wherever God leads next.

Your student is encouraged to explore, create, and ask questions.

At PAA, students are supported in expressing who they are and discovering new interests in an environment that values both creativity and purpose.

From fine arts and digital arts to performing and industrial arts, your student learns using high-tech, professional-level tools in welcoming, well-designed spaces. An industry-standard recording studio, Mac and PC labs, and art studios equipped with professional software and equipment give students hands-on experience that prepares them for future careers, college pathways, or lifelong creative pursuits.

Electives like Game Design & Robotics, Auto Mechanics, and Music Performance & Production are just a few of the ways your student can expand their learning, develop new skills, and explore the talents God has placed within them.

High school is about more than classes, it’s about discovering gifts, building confidence, and finding community.

From Oregon School Activities Association athletics and music to clubs like Rock Climbing and Ski & Snowboard Club, your student is invited to try new things, stretch themselves, and grow through shared experiences that build confidence, teamwork, and accountability.

Beyond activities, your student develops leadership and strong relationships through opportunities like Student Government, Campus Ministries, Worship Leadership, Bible Camp, and annual Wilderness Retreats. These experiences are intentionally designed to nurture integrity, courage, and community, helping your student grow into the leader God is shaping them to be.

Our greatest desire is for your student to know Jesus and to grow in a lifelong walk with Him. Everything we do at PAA flows from that calling.

Through a rich variety of spiritual life experiences, your student is invited to encounter their Creator every day. With a full-time chaplain, dedicated Bible teachers, and caring faculty and staff, your student’s spiritual and emotional well-being is always at the center of campus life. Every class begins with prayer, reflection, and connection. Viewed through a Christ-centered, character-driven lens.

Your student finds encouragement and inspiration through weekly chapels and Friday night vespers, often led by their peers. Beyond campus, spiritual leadership retreats, Bible camp, and local and global mission trips open doors for deeper faith, service, and purpose, helping your student take meaningful steps on their journey with Jesus.

That is the heart of our call to Adventist education.
