On Saturday night, November 14, our boys varsity soccer team made PAA history by securing the State Championship title for Class 3A/2A/1A.
It was a dramatic finish!
PAA was tied with OES with just four minutes left in the game. That’s when Luke Janta kicked the ball to Derek Irvine for a goal-scoring header. “I saw it hit the post but I wasn’t sure it went in…” said Derek Irvine in an interview with the Oregonian. Well, it did!
Irvine, a senior this year, went on to say how well both PAA and OES played. Playing well is a great way to end the season. The boys and PAA fans have much to be proud of.
